Aaron Calafato’s Shortwave Stories is a new short-form public radio storytelling segment adapted from his 7 Minute Stories, the world’s leading short-form autobiographical podcast, which has reached more than 30 million people worldwide.

Each episode delivers a true story from Aaron’s extremely normal yet deeply relatable life in Ohio: childhood memories, working-class family moments, small-town encounters, strange coincidences, funny observations, and quiet revelations from everyday life, told with the feeling of a Millennial swapping stories with Jean Shepherd, Spalding Gray, and Paul Harvey at a Midwestern diner.

Beginning in 2026, WYSU Public Radio will air the series weekly during drive-time programming, with additional weekend placement leading into Snap Judgment. The format delivers immersive 5 minute human stories, crafted for public radio audiences, commuter listening, and anyone who still believes an ordinary life can hold an extraordinary story.
