Shortwave Stories is a short-form public radio series featuring true stories written and performed by award-winning Ohio storyteller Aaron Calafato. Paired with an original sonic score, each episode finds deeper meaning in the small moments we often overlook—true stories from one life that somehow belong to us all.

The series is adapted from his 7 Minute Stories, the world’s leading short-form autobiographical podcast, which has reached more than 30 million people worldwide.

Beginning August of 2026, WYSU Public Radio will air the series weekly during drive-time programming, with additional weekend placement leading into Snap Judgment. The format delivers immersive 5 minute human stories, crafted for public radio audiences, commuter listening, and anyone who still believes an ordinary life can hold an extraordinary story.
